New York Evening Program for Alzheimer's Patients Helps Caregivers Get Much Needed Sleep
September 26, 2017
With our aging population, it is crucial that we have the right programs available for the varying needs of the elderly. A new program in New York City is designed for the needs of the 20% of Alzheimer's patients who are most active at night, allowing their care takers to get much needed sleep so they can work and continue to care for their loved ones at home.
Programs like this are possible in New York State because of the expansion of Medicaid offered by the Affordable Care Act. That is why it is so important that any reforms to the ACA protect Medicaid expansion.
